Dear Friends,
Do you know why inspirational quotes are nice to look at, but rarely make a large impact? It’s because they are compressed life experiences, and it’s hard to convey the body of experience into a single sentence.
At Kind Camp, we end each session by distilling our insights into a personal mantra. I encourage Kind Campers to use 5 words or fewer, and remind everyone to revisit them a week after the session.
This week, my mantra is “have fun tumbling.” I’ve been making phone wallpapers for Kind Campers based on their personal mantras, and finally got around to making my own:
This mantra means a lot to me, because it comes from my own deepest intentions. It might be cryptic (but maybe not if you know me well, which you do since you read my newsletters!) But it brings forth stronger resonance than inspirational quotes. Writing my own mantras allows me to see, appreciate, and trust my inner wisdom, rather than relying on others.
More Kind Camp sessions are happening from January onwards to support self-discovery. Each session has a unique theme, so we may examine our subconscious minds from as many angles as possible. If you are setting intentions in 2023 to discover the deeper writer within, please join us!
Warm Wishes,
Christin
P.S. I’ve been writing/reposting roughly an article every weekday on Medium as part of Jibran’s 100-day creator challenge. Let’s mutual follow if you are on Medium.
P.P.S. I have shifted my schedule to posting every Monday instead of Sunday, so I may consolidate my rest days. :)
I love this advice! It’s also so timely! In 2023, I plan to make 100 Procreate paintings with encouraging words. I want my encouraging words to be distillations of my articles. Then, I could also post those art with encouraging words on Instagram and Twitter. P.S. I love your mantra and its art! Did you make it in Procreate? :) :) :)
Hi Christin, I especially LOVED your recent Kind Camp and wanted to reread this article for its guidance about mantra writing. P.S. I followed you on Medium: https://medium.com/@jennymesserle if you’d like to mutual follow. 😊 Happy writing and publishing to you! Jenny 😊
