Christin's Behind-the-Scenes Sunday 🎥: Travel Postcard Edition
Traveling to reset, It’s Always Sunny podcast, writing long-form on the phone
Dear Ones,
I hope you're having a fantastic holiday, wherever you are! Yuhong and I have been traveling down to the "Southland" and making some long overdue social visits. We also got to spend time by ourselves and catch up. Even though we live together and spend many hours in the same room, our days are occupied by Zoom calls and daily chores. So it's nice to be away from all that every once in awhile, even if it's listening to the It's Always Sunny podcast on a long car ride together.
(By the way, I highly recommend the podcast if you are a fan of the show. There is a surprising amount of wisdom and insights in between bouts of improv and teasing each other.)
I used to be quite into end-of-year reflections and self-evaluations, but now I see that I rarely go "ah, yes, that went well because I made a New Year's resolution!" Instead, honoring my randomly-times ideas seem to pay off much more. (I will continue with choosing my Word of the Year, but this ritual happens in April on Fool's Day. 2020 was marked by Hearth, and 2021 by æ°£.)
I'm breaking from the usual newsletter format today because of travel, and also this was written on my phone! I managed to finish writing an essay draft by phone in the past few days too, and am finding it a useful alternative to breaking out the laptop, or just fiddling with entertainment options on the phone. Have any of you explored writing long-form by phone instead of using the computer?
Warm Wishes,
Christin
Wow, you wrote this on your phone! I could never do that… I like that word! Happy holidays and road trips to you :)
I have tried writing long-form by phone but never by choice, only when it's the only thing available to me. something about writing setences with a tiny on-screen keyboard repels me 😂
