I am weirded out by Substack’s new prompt for writing newsletters: apparently now it says
“Tip: Write something tweet-length (1-3 sentences) that encourages general discussion.”
:S What? If I want to tweet I’ll just…tweet!
YouTube Revival
I’m excited to let you know that I am one-foot back on the YouTube train, and posted this short video:
It’s really targeted towards people who search for “extreme minimalism” on YouTube, who are…my people. It’s been a very rewarding platform so far, because I get more comments from kind strangers than on Twitter. (I.e. YouTube is better about “pushing” my content to viewers than Twitter is.)
The content of the video is more personal than those I’ve done in the past too. It’s been a bit scary crossing this vulnerability line, but I am much more proud of this kind of content.
I went from lamenting about burn out to… being very swamped this week. This seems to be a general trend for me, because when I feel burnt out, I tend to push tasks off to the next week, and then it accumulates and…things kinda get insane.
But I’m going to do a very hypocritical thing and give a talk about…
Meditation Just For Creators
You are the first to know about this workshop! It’s the first of its kind where I talk about how creators can use their EXISTING skills to meditate, without having to learn anything. I think there’s way too many workshops these days and even I am tired of learning. So this is a way to “learn” without…having to work any harder. Isn’t it neat?
I’m thankful for my friend Ayush who even designed this entire banner for me, and workshopped the copy! He is in the midst of an ultimate creator challenge he set up for himself, to launch 25 products in 25 weeks.
Just finished the @Christintweets book. It's fantastic, and I highly recommend it if you are interested in meditation.
Substack doesn’t do a good job of linking the rest of the Twitter thread…but if you click on the Tweet above, you’ll see a series of tweets where I noodled on how to be a spiritual creator without feeling slimy about it.
I’ll end the newsletter here because this has been a beefy one. I’m also writing with Michael Dean this month as part of the Writer of Passage’s Writing Studio program, applying to be a Writer of Passage mentor, and finalizing my Sati Center Buddhist Chaplaincy application.
Thank you for sharing! You're talking about valuable lessons that came out of your traumatic experiences, and I appreciate hearing about both the experiences and the lessons.
