Dear Ones,
I once read this strange description of Justin Timberlake in an interview. He was heading towards the interviewer across the dance floor, shimmying his way. But the closer he got to the interviewer, the slower he got. The interviewer was creeped out, and the image stuck in my mind even though there was no video of this incident. Just because it was such a JT, yet bizarre thing to do.
(I cannot find this interview online anymore, unfortunately. I might have misremembered the phrasing. But JT had another strange dancing-related incident a few days ago. He blamed his shoes and khakis.)
My book writing is similar to JT—somehow, I have gotten slower as I head towards the finish line! There’s a couple of reasons:
When I got back from my retreat, I was operating at closest to 100% maximum efficiency. It was quite a miraculous sight. I wish you were there. But as expected (and confirmed by monastics in a live stream when I bugged them about it) practice is two-steps forward and one-step back. So I’ve dropped back to habitual ways and writing slowed.
This is the nature of all projects—the last 20% takes 80% of the time!
So what I’m doing now is “closing” the open loops in the book and making a note of what I’m adding in the Second Edition, which will be provided for free to all those pre-ordered. (Free lifetime updates, guaranteed!) I was planning to ship the Second Edition about a month out from the First, which really means I should say it will be two months out, ~ September 1st.
Thanks for sticking around for another truly behind-the-scenes update. :)
Warm Wishes,
Christin

This is the way, isn’t it! Just keep going. You’ve got this!
Wow that is very productive even if the last 20% is taking longer...!! Looking forward to reading the book :D
